The Super Eagles has safely arrived in Uyo ahead of their FIFA World Cup qualifying match following an unexpected delay during their flight, caused by a technical issue mid air.
Brila.net can confirm the team touched down in the Akwa Ibom State capital at 8:05 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The delay was the result of a crack in the aircraft’s windshield, which appeared after the plane had stopped to refuel in Luanda, Angola.
The damage forced the pilot to turn the aircraft around and make an emergency landing in Luanda as a precautionary measure.
The NFF also confirmed that it worked closely with ValueJet Airline, alongside the Minister of Aviation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Chief of Staff to the President, to swiftly arrange another aircraft from Lagos to retrieve the team from Angola and complete the journey to Uyo.
With the disruption, the Super Eagles will now have only two training session before Tuesday’s crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier against Benin Republic.

Mean while Benin and Gernot Rohr arrived in the country on Saturday and are expected to benefit from at least two training sessions ahead of the encounter, giving them a potential edge in preparation.
